8^th December 2011.. Exactly a year back our favorite fictional duo.. took vows of togetherness.. in good times and bad..

They were bound by the holy vows of matrimony.. exactly one year back.. but it seems like just yesterday as each fan remembers distinctly the wedding trousseau of Viren and the bridal look of Jeevika 

Right from the start Virika’s pre-nuptials were a grand festive affair.. which culminated in a fitting finale.. with the couple looking a million bucks- A royal look given to both by the designer and aptly adorned by Karan and Krystle.. To this date no one would forget the royal red pagdi of Viren and the mangtika of Jeevika.. They looked mesmerizing living the fairytale wedding that was meant to be..

I give my hand to you with all my heart

Cant wait to live my life with you.. cant wait to start

After the serialistic drama catering to the prime bond of the show.. ensued the enthralling moments when Viren watched Jeevika walk up the stage looking ethereal.. his heart skipped a beat.. the sequence itself was so indescribably aesthetic that Karan confessed – he felt the pre-wedding nervous anxiety while shooting, as it were real.. The exchange of garlands.. atop the shoulders of their beloved kins.. holding onto each other for support while they did it- each little bit, each nanosecond made one feel like they were watching a real wedding..

The gathbandhan.. putting sindoor to mangalsutra- those were the days when each little detail was kept in mind and I remember some of us friends were so engulfed in it that we ended up exchanging our siblings wedding experiences and  different customs of putting sindoor, etc on india-forums.. it didn’t matter if you were an ardent fan or just someone enjoying the show.. such was the charm of the wedding..

Talking of Virika- a year on.. at the cost of sounding repetitive, I would only sum that their journey has been very simple and real.. gradually progressing from acquaintance.. a love story that involved knowing one self through the other.. embarking on a rollercoaster of emotions., experiences with just one thing intact – companionship.. In the most testing times Viren has been a solid support to the vulnerable Jeevika. In spite of the fact that Jeevika has been the lesser strength when it came to the relationship due to her quintessential dilemma and self consuming investment in sisterhood- no one can refute the fact that she has suffered guilt, remorse to the extent of wanting to abandon the man, the relationship for believing she did not do justice.. to the vows she took with him.. to the promises she made to him and thereby his family..  But where she lacked, Viren more than made up for it.. With Virika its not about two halves making a whole; but a completion irrespective..

Through the strength and weaknesses they have both partaken through the year the highlights of their companionship has been sheer understanding, transparency and the willingness to forego their individual dreams when it came to the other..

A beautiful Journey it has been.. and like Viren said it in an intense scene today.. its just the beginning.. there is a long way to go for them..

He knows it.. She does too

And so does that power up there.. that united them…

To VIRIKA.. who made us fall in LOVE with the  concept of an arranged marriage in today’s age.. who make us want to believe that fairytales could originate from real stories..  what one needs is the courage to dream and work on Living it….
