One year back as Jeevika fell on Viren’s feet.. and he picked her up to stare at his future, through the maze of silken fabrics .. a Journey began..

 Virika’s companionship isn’t the core of the story.. but this journey has held a distinct essence that encapsulated viewers with its simplicity. Viren and Jeevika, two introvert individuals who often spoke through silence in their other relationships; embarked on this companionship, where both weaved their own dreams.  It was on paper; a simple and regular alliance but the presentation, the portrayal.. caught the fancy of those who fantasized for such and those who could relate to it via their experiences.

 Amidst the sugary-sweet equation there were subtle underlying layers. Karan and Krystle portrayed the poignancy rather well- especially the jitters, the indecisiveness, the insecurity,  the flaws which came to fore in their first roadblock: the Manan confrontation. The progression was evident already as the reconciliation and acknowledgement happened in the Diwali sequence; as Jeevika shared her emotions for the very first time...a leap outside her comfort zone and Viren got down on his knees asking for her trust. A beautiful sequence that eventually paved the theme of their relationship- Companionship..

To me personally, the post wedding phase was very close to reality- the initial awkwardness,  the need for space, the attempt to explore each other, and the nervous excitement .. the effort to fit into each other’s daily lives.. was just sublime. And finally the sensual drift in dekho na sequence – Virika epitomized passion in a fashion that left their fans in a daze..

The honeymoon proved to be an expedition where they both got an insight.. not just about the other, but about themselves … Jeevika's guarded psyche found wings in Viren’s company.. whereas Viren found someone to share his treasured memories with. Virika were finally comfortable in each other’s skin- individually and together..

Eventually through the ups and downs, both in some ways were a shoulder to the other; more Viren than Jeevika- keeping the premise of the show in mind; and a strong one at that...to the extent of even compromising individualities, dreams. Viren held his vows made to Jeevika at prime importance even if that meant killing his own desires.. He stood as a bridge over troubled waters – through the gruesome cancer phase and through dealing with the loss of their little collective dream..

There were times Virika were just a prop in the background.. but their mere screen presence left the fans with a smile… Such is the aura of Virika- that a barely one minute scene would keep fans invested for weeks, hoping for a strong story ahead.. Such is the aura projected in this surreal chemistry.. that fans shared the ecstasy when Virika invited parenthood.. and were left in a void when that little dream was left unrequited.. So invested are fans in this companionship that they somewhere can’t digest Jeevika’s choice.. even if it’s the demand of the core story..

A year on… we have lived each emotion with Virika and continue to do so, with HOPES FLOATING.. for natural and significant progression in their story..  keeping their essence intact…

In summary, Virika’s is a simple tale-  no magnificence, no overwhelming emotions… but then again, simplicity touches a chord that no grandeur can..
